Kingfishr are an Irish folk-rock band from Limerick. The band consists of Edmond Keogh (lead vocals, guitar), Eoghan “McGoo” McGrath (vocals, banjo), and Eoin Fitzgibbon (vocals, guitar). They formed in 2017 while studying engineering at the University of Limerick.The band’s name is inspired by the kingfisher bird, which is a native of Ireland. The bird is known for its bright blue plumage and its graceful flight. Kingfishr’s music is similarly colorful and dynamic. It is a mix of folk, rock, and electronica, with elements of spoken word and world music.Kingfishr’s music has been praised for its “powerful vocals”, “catchy melodies”, and “thought-provoking lyrics”.
